LG Trade Practices Compliance Policy

LG Electronics Australia Pty Ltd (LGEAP) is committed to observing all laws, regulations, codes and organisational standards applicable to the operation of its business in Australia, including the provisions of the Trade Practices Act 1974 (Cth) (the TPA).

As part of this commitment, LGEAP has implemented a comprehensive trade practices compliance program. This program includes the appointment of a dedicated Compliance Manager, provision of ongoing training to all LGEAP staff as to their obligations under the TPA and the impact of the TPA on their individual areas of responsibility; and the maintenance of effective complaints handling processes.

All LGEAP employees must maintain a good working knowledge of the TPA and uphold the LGEAP policy of compliance with its requirements. It is the responsibility of all employees to guard against a contravention, bearing in mind that a contravention cannot be justified by claims of ignorance, good intentions or a failure to seek legal advice.

Contraventions of LGEAPs policy of trade practices compliance by employees will be regarded with the utmost seriousness and may result in disciplinary action, including dismissal.  In addition, substantial individual penalties can be incurred for breach of the TPA. LGEAP will not indemnify employees in respect of such penalties.

If you have a concern about an LG product or LGEAP's compliance with the law, information about how to contact us and our complaints handling processes can be found here
