LG’s New Refrigerator Range - More Space, Style and Integration

Sydney, August 2006: LG Electronics Australia is pleased to announce the long awaited arrival of a new refrigeration range with all the style, contemporary design and innovation the brand has become renowned for.

The new range includes an exciting upgrade to LG’s popular LCD TV Refrigerator (GR-G227TVS) with the latest model sporting a 15” LCD TV and direct AV inputs. The entire range comes with the added benefit of an ice-maker that is built in the door of the unit saving up to 28L of usable space in the freezer compartment.

According to Glacel Lubrin, Category Manager, Whitegoods, LG Electronics Australia, this convenient and simple space saving solution is precisely what home owners need and is particularly handy for long term storage and entertaining.

“This new range of refrigerators delivers the highest quality product with many value added features including the genius of an ice maker hidden neatly away in the door,” said Ms Lubrin.

“Not only does the in-door icemaker save space for those bulky freezer items, it’s easy to check and remove. It caters to fit tall entertaining glasses and the ice cube size produced can be adjusted for that perfect cube to liquid ratio.”

LG understands that the modern home is becoming more and more integrated. The added features of the new LG refrigeration range ensures consumers are completely up to date and their kitchen environment is streamlined.

“With a choice of features including in-built LCD TVs, ice makers, filtered water dispensers and a Home-bar, all at the touch of a button, consumers can own a truly integrated product,” Lubrin said.

LG’s one touch Home-bar will make consumers wonder how they ever lived without it. This feature allows easy access to the fridge’s frequently accessed drinks and snacks without even having to open the door, making the unit as energy efficient as possible with minimal loss of refrigerated air.

LG’s new cutting edge range comes in a wide selection of designs that make entertaining a breeze including the traditional Side-by-Side and the contemporary French Door. The genius of LG’s in-door ice maker in the French Door Refrigerator range is truly revolutionary. Both water and ice are dispersed from the top section of the fridge even whist the freezer compartment is located on the bottom. In a technological breakthrough, LG has found a way to efficiently transport the cold air up from the freezer located at the bottom to allow this to occur.

Other standout benefits of LG’s French Door Refrigeration range are the wide, easily adjustable cantilevered shelves which hold oversized platters at eye level. Accessing food has never been easier. The entire range of LG French Door Refrigerators now boast a tilt drawer freezer with deep baskets ensuring easy access to frozen foods and most importantly – more usable storage room.

All fridges in the range have advanced cooling technologies which enable food to stay fresher for longer. The need to replenish fruit and vegetables after only a few days is no longer necessary.
LG’s winning combination of advanced cooling technologies across the range is as follows;

• ‘Icebeam Door Cooling’ - a process which uses ducts to circulate cold air within the fridge, generating even temperature distribution, helping food maintain its freshness, nutritional value, texture and flavour, for longer.

• ‘Multi-Air Flow’ - delivers even distribution to all shelves stopping humidity in its tracks.

• ‘Magic Crisper’ - While the Multi-air flow ensures even air distribution across each shelf, the Magic Crisper creates the optimal humidity environment to maintain the freshness of fruit and vegetables in the crispers.

• ‘BioshieldTM ‘- Mould and mildew are prevented via the BioshieldTM - an anti-bacterial seal that allows the fridge to maintain optimal freshness.

Additional features include touch LCD display, up to 8 digital sensors, and a 3 temperature adjustable control miracle zone (on selected models).

LG maintains it’s commitment to keeping the environment clean with ‘linear compression motors’ which use less moving parts than the average refrigerator ensuring less energy is lost and a more efficient power output is achieved.

The new LG refrigeration range delivers unparalleled refrigeration performance and comes in a selection of the following models;
